The United States is increasing the supply of energy equipment to Ukraine to repair and strengthen the resilience of the Ukrainian energy system. This was announced by US President Joe Biden in his reaction to the Russian shelling on August 26.
“I strongly condemn Russia’s continued war against Ukraine and its efforts to plunge the Ukrainian people into darkness. Let me be clear: Russia will never succeed in Ukraine, and the spirit of the Ukrainian people will never be broken,” Biden said in a statement.
The President also reminded that the United States leads a coalition of more than 50 countries in support of Ukraine. This coalition provides Ukraine with critical military equipment, including air defense systems.
“I have changed the priorities of American exports of air defense equipment so that they primarily go to Ukraine,” the head of state added.
The Russian attack on August 26 on Ukraine’s energy sector was one of the most massive. As a result of the shelling, the energy sector will adjust its winterization plans. There are no forecasts for blackouts in the coming months.
