Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin held an official meeting with U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and the U.S. Department of Justice team. This meeting plays a key role in Ukraine’s reconstruction, as cooperation between the legal institutions of the two countries contributes to strengthening the rule of law and global security.
Together with Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova, the participants discussed further cooperation to ensure that the Kremlin regime is held fully accountable for all of its international crimes. An important topic of the meeting was the role of the United States in supporting the institutional capacity of the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office and law enforcement agencies, which is critical for the restoration of the state and the rule of law.
Andriy Kostin expressed his gratitude to his American colleagues for their support and noted the contribution of the U.S. Department of Justice to global efforts to investigate Russia’s war crimes. The work of the Disruptive Technology Strike Force and the KleptoCapture Task Force, which are fighting the supply of components for military production to Russia, was particularly noted.
This cooperation is an important element in the further development of Ukraine, contributing to the strengthening of its legal system and prosecution of crimes against our country.
