Joe Biden: More than 30 countries and the EU signed a Joint Declaration on Ukraine’s recovery

During a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Joe Biden announced a new aid package for Ukraine and emphasized the long-term support of the United States and international partners.

“Russia will not win this war. It will not reign in Ukraine. Ukraine will win, and we will support you every step of the way,” Joe Biden said.

The main topic of the meeting at the White House was the discussion of Ukraine’s “Victory Plan”. Biden outlined two key aspects that can ensure Ukraine’s victory, with the active support of Western partners.

“These two elements are critical to how this war ends,” the US President emphasized.

The first element is to strengthen Ukraine’s positions on the battlefield.

“Today I am announcing a new security assistance package worth $2.4 billion. I have also instructed the Pentagon to use all available funds for Ukraine by the end of my term, that is, by January 20. This will strengthen Ukraine’s position in future negotiations,” Biden said.

The total amount of assistance to Ukraine this time will be $8 billion.

The second element is the long-term support announced at the NATO summit this summer.

“As we stated at the summit in Washington, we will continue to support Ukraine on its path to EU and NATO membership, as well as in implementing the reforms to fight corruption and strengthen democracy that you are actively working on,” Biden added.

Joe Biden: More than 30 countries and the EU signed a Joint Declaration on Ukraine’s recovery

The US President emphasized that significant progress has already been made in both directions. This summer, the Ukraine Compact was created, with more than 20 countries pledging to ensure Ukraine’s long-term security.

Biden also announced that more than 30 countries and the EU have signed a Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine’s Recovery and Reconstruction. Part of the funds for this purpose will be obtained from frozen Russian assets.
