Ukraine and France signed an agreement on infrastructure restoration: commentary by Pavlo Kostyuk

Ukraine has signed an implementation agreement with the French government on a €200 million grant agreement. This agreement will allow the implementation of key projects to restore and modernize Ukraine’s infrastructure.

This was announced by the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko. According to her, the funds will be allocated to such sectors as healthcare, energy, water supply, demining, digital technologies, infrastructure, agriculture, waste management, and housing.

“This grant agreement is an important step for Ukraine on its way to rebuilding after the destruction caused by Russian aggression. It is especially important that half of the grant funds will be used to purchase Ukrainian goods and services, which will contribute to the development of the domestic economy and help local businesses to actively participate in reconstruction projects,” said Pavlo Kostyuk, founder of the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund.

The second half of the grant funds will be spent on the purchase of French goods and services, which will also promote mutual economic cooperation between Ukraine and France.

“It is important that the agreement provides support for such critical sectors as energy and water supply, which are essential for restoring normal living conditions. It will also strengthen our cooperation with European partners and provide access to modern technologies needed for large-scale reconstruction,” emphasized Pavlo Kostyuk.
