Denys Liskovskyi, a new participant of the URF scientific competition, proposes to create software for automating the calculation of the optimal traffic light cycle.
The contestant is a postgraduate student at the Kyiv University of Construction and Architecture.
The innovation of the project is to use a genetic algorithm to calculate the traffic light cycle matrix.
“His work is based on the reproduction of the process of natural evolution. It will be used to find extremes of functions,” the competition concept states.
The goal of the project is to reduce time and fuel costs when passing through regulated intersections, simplify the process of traffic management, and reduce the cost of design work to optimize the traffic signal cycle.
