Federal Laboratory Consortium Elects New Officials for Executive Board and Regional Positions

Released: April 22, 2024

(WASHINGTON, DC – April 22, 2024) The Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) is pleased to announce the results of its 2024 elections to fill five Executive Board roles and three other elected positions. The newly elected officers will begin two-year terms on October 1, 2024.

FLC Chair Whitney Hastings, of the National Cancer Institute, announced the election results during the annual Town Hall at the 2024 FLC National Meeting, which was held in Dallas, Texas. Coinciding with the Consortium’s 50th anniversary, the premier event of the year drew a record-breaking 553 technology transfer professionals, federal employees, and members of the business community.

The results of the 2024 FLC elections are as follows:

  • Member-At-Large: Vladimir Popov, Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research
  • Member-At-Large: Valerie Larkin, Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport
  • Far West Region
    • Far West Regional Coordinator: Kimberly Minafra, National Aeronautics and Space Administration
    • Far West Deputy Regional Coordinator: Stephen Crutchfield, Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific
  • Mid-Atlantic Region
    • Mid-Atlantic Regional Coordinator: Amanda Corbel, Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research
    • Mid-Atlantic Deputy Regional Coordinator: Zarpheen Jinnah, National Cancer Institute
  • Midwest Region
    • Midwest Regional Coordinator: Annie-Bullock Yoder, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division
    • Midwest Deputy Regional Coordinator: Meghan Sheehan, Environmental Protection Agency

FLC’s elected officers are volunteers who shape the organization’s strategy, direction and success. Members-at-Large represent the Consortium membership to the Executive Board, chair ad hoc committees and assist their regional coordinators. Regional coordinators and deputy regional coordinators are representatives and liaisons for their regions.

“We’re glad to welcome these officials into their new terms this fall,” said Paul Zielinski, FLC Executive Director. “The landscape of technology transfer changes constantly, and the strengths and needs of our members vary so much among different agencies and regions that we rely on these volunteers to be voices for their colleagues.”
