Released: March 19, 2024

(WASHINGTON, DC – March 19, 2024) The Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) is excited to announce the launch of its new podcast, The Transfer Files: Inside the World of Federal Innovation. Listeners will get an insider’s look at how government laboratories bring groundbreaking technologies to public life through one-on-one conversations with researchers, technology transfer (T2) professionals, entrepreneurs and more.

Every day, government laboratories across the U.S. are at the forefront of developing revolutionary technologies for national security, public health and other national needs. Through a process called technology transfer, many of these innovations are transformed into products and technologies for the public, ranging from sustainable food products to life-saving cancer treatments.

In each episode of The Transfer Files, guests will share their insights, expertise, and experiences from all sides of T2. These engaging and thought-provoking conversations will explore how lab research, policy and business intersect to commercialize these cutting-edge technologies.

In honor of the FLC’s 50th anniversary, Season 1 will feature several interviews exploring the history of the FLC and federal tech transfer. In the debut episode, FLC Executive Director Paul Zielinski delves into milestone events that shaped the Consortium’s foundation and discusses how the FLC is celebrating its golden anniversary. Plus, tune in for conversations with:

  • Dick Paul, Chair of the FLC National Advisory Council

  • Eddie Diehl, Commercialization Officer in Medical Technology Transfer for the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command
